Our shopfronts scheme

Restoring and enhancing historic shopfronts in the Cathedral Quarter zone

The scheme aims to restore historic shopfronts where they exist and put back traditional shopfronts and signage where they have been lost.

Grants are available for property owners within the zone to:

• Reinstate traditional fascia signage and lighting
• Restore existing shopfronts to their former glory

Grants vary between 50% and 75% of the cost of works. All works must use traditional materials and methods and the applicant has to own the building or hold a lease of more than 10 years to apply.
